A surfer stylishly clutches a rail as he cleaves at a steep-faced wall. Meanwhile, a lime-flavoured masthead puts everyone in the Spring mood.
Inside French surfing champion, Jean-Marie Lartigau talks about friends back home who go surfing in Rolls Royces and wear customised Pierre Cardin suits. He also expresses his shame over his country’s nuclear testing in the Pacific.
Paul Witzig and nine friends are travelling Australia in an experiment to find out what life is like when living simply is the goal. Their first major quest – building a house for $3 from a combination of salvaged materials, gathered stones and cheaply purchased products. Somehow, they pull it off in a desert meets the sea setting and are reluctant to leave.
Snippets from several of the eras most memorable movies are featured including, ‘Five Summer Stories’, ‘A Winter’s Tale’ and Saltwater Wine’.
Up the back, G & S run an ad for a radical new three-finned design called ‘The Bonza’. The ad reads, ‘As you have gathered by the photos, this board looks pretty far out.'
