The Snap
Title: The Snap
Artist: Peter Joli Wilson
As a two-time ASP World Surfing Champion, Tom Carroll became the second Australian to win the Hawaiian Triple Crown of Surfing Championship in 1991. That same year, Tom completed what has been described as “The Snap Heard Around the World” during the Pipeline Masters. At that time most goofy footers stylishly pulled into the barrel at Pipe, Carroll took a different approach by performing a giant snapping hook right under the lip of a double-overhead Pipeline beast. Since then, no other surfer or single manoeuvre has captivated surfers the world over.

PHOTOGRAPHERS BIO
In 1989 after being Advertising and Marketing Manager for a good part of the 80’s he left Quiksilver and began freelancing for himself. What followed was the formation of Joli Productions and a lifestyle on the road with his wife Jan, creating one of the most comprehensive photo libraries of the sport. From World Tour Events to free surfing Joli‘s collection is staggering. What’s also impressive is that he was filing stories from remote places on Earth way before digital cameras, email, and websites. Combined with his love for travel, he has produced a planet-wide portfolio capable of transporting the observer all over the globe. Nowadays you’d be hard-pressed to find a stock photography site hosting more generational surf and ocean images than Joli‘s. With over 30 years of freelancing up his sleeve, Joli‘s seen a lot on the road. From Slater’s 11 World Titles to two of the biggest swells to ever hit Cloudbreak in Fiji to being invited by pro surfers to shoot a rare east swell that lit up a Tahitian reef break during a Teahupo’o contest waiting period - all a testament to the solid relationships he’s formed with Surfing’s elite. It’s access to all areas for Joli and no, there isn’t a Media Pass for this.

✓ Sustainably Sourced Materials: Our frames are constructed using solid timber that is FSC certified, reflecting our dedication to sustainable sourcing practices.
✓ Superior Clarity Acrylic: The acrylic used in our frames surpasses traditional glass or 'perspex' in both clarity and durability, offering a crystal-clear view of the artwork without compromising on strength.
✓ Optimal Artwork Presentation: While all clear surfaces naturally reflect some light, we avoid using non-reflective films on our acrylic. Such treatments can diminish the colour and vibrancy of the art. Our approach ensures your artwork is presented in its truest form.
✓ Mould-Resistant Backing: The rear of each frame features a mould-resistant white board, eschewing the use of MDF to protect and preserve your art prints. Your fine art is mounted to this professional-grade framing board for enhanced longevity.
✓ Ready to Hang: Every framed art print arrives ready for display, complete with unique hanging fixtures for easy installation.
Each print is available as; unframed (print only) or framed print (raw, black or white wooden frame).
White Border Details: A white border refers to a deliberate, unprinted margin surrounding the artwork on your selected print. While this border will slightly reduce the visible area of your chosen design, the overall dimensions of the 315 gsm matte fine art paper will remain unchanged.
This feature is designed to enhance the presentation of your artwork by providing a built-in matting effect.
