About Us

Since 1970

Tracks made its first drop in 1970, when Albe Falzon, David Elfick and John Witzig had a hunch that a surf rag could be the centrifugal force in a rapidly evolving counter-culture. From a house at Whale Beach, they built the oracle surfers turned to - for the waves worth chasing, the trips worth taking, and the music, mischief and alternative living that came with it.

More than fifty years on, the blueprint hasn’t changed. Waves, travel, music and rebellious fun is still the whole point and still the state of mind.

A new venture

Now that same instinct has a shopfront.

Tracks Magazine has come to life with its own curated store of surf.

We didn’t want another endless store - we wanted a place where surfers can find gear from brands Tracks backs. Brands you know, and some you don’t yet. What they share is simple: they test their gear in the water before it ever hits a shelf, and they’ve each earned their place here. When something carries the Tracks stamp, it’s because we’d ride with it ourselves.
